After having worked on the Mary Hamilton Papers digital edition since December 2019, the Unlocking the Mary Hamilton Papers team officially launched the edition, hosted by Manchester Digital Collections, with a presentation on 27 September 2022. This was a major milestone for the project, and we would very much like to thank everyone who was able to join us!

In case you weren’t able to join us, or if you would like to revisit (parts of) the launch, we are happy to announce that the recording of the event is now available for everyone to watch, (including English subtitles).

The presentation given at the launch event includes background information on the project (including the team and our research strands), Mary Hamilton and her archive, an overview of our transcription and editing practices, and a quick walk-through of the online edition in MDC as well as the linguistic corpus in CQPweb.

If you have any questions or comments for us based on any of this, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact form. We intend to continue improving and expanding the edition with the help of those who have been involved in the project, as well as those who wish to explore and use the edition.

As regards the (near) future, we are currently working on a number of things, including an edited volume on Mary Hamilton and her circles, a panel at the BSECS conference in January 2023, various publications stemming from the project research strands, and updates on the edition. Watch this space for more Mary Hamilton-related updates!
